Meet Our Teaching Pastor – Roe Porter

For nearly thirty years, Pastor Roe Porter has been faithfully teaching, encouraging, and equipping the fellowship of Savannah Baptist Temple. He is deeply committed to his calling—to instruct and shepherd God’s family through the teaching of His Word. In each service, he expounds the Scriptures verse by verse, believing that the most effective way to grow believers, make disciples, and encourage others is by presenting the Bible in a clear, relevant, and practical way. Above all, he teaches with love and compassion, ensuring that biblical truths are both understood and applied in daily life.

Pastor Roe has been happily married to his wife, Tammy, for over forty years. Together, they are blessed with two daughters and two grandchildren.

Meet Tammy Porter

Tammy Porter is the First Lady of Savannah Baptist Temple and a devoted partner in ministry alongside Pastor Roe. Married for forty-two years, they have faithfully served together in three local church ministries, with the past twenty-eight years dedicated to Savannah Baptist Temple.

Tammy has a heart for ministry, serving in music, playing the keyboard for the church and praise team, and working closely with children and young people. She has stood faithfully beside our pastor, encouraging and supporting him in his calling, all for the honor and glory of the Lord.

Meet Gary & Linda Larrimore

Gary and Linda Larrimore joined our ministry team five years ago, bringing with them a deep love for Christ and His Church. With a lifetime of ministry experience, they have enriched Savannah Baptist Temple through their dedication and service.

Their ministry includes leading corporate worship, teaching the Bible, and serving the homeless. Gary serves as our media specialist, ensuring excellence in our church’s media and technology, while Linda directs our weekly corporate worship, guiding us in praise and worship.

We are truly blessed to have this faithful and gifted couple as part of the SBT ministry team.

Eva White 

Children’s Bible Study Directo

Eva White serves as our Children’s Bible Study Director, leading small group Bible studies with a heart for nurturing young lives in God’s Word. She is a graduate of Trinity Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education. In addition to her dedication to ministry, Eva is a retired Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard.

For over forty years, she has faithfully invested in the hearts and lives of children at Savannah Baptist Temple, passionately teaching them the truths of Scripture. Her greatest desire is for every child to experience the love of Christ through a personal relationship with Him.
